1. Introduction
Webline Technologies Ltd ("Webline", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit www.webline.co.ke, use our online store, create an account, or buy our products and services.
We process personal data in accordance with applicable Kenyan law, including the Data Protection Act, 2019.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
When you register, place an order, contact us, or subscribe to updates, we may collect:
- Identity information: your name and username.
- Contact and delivery information: your email address, phone number, billing address, and delivery address.
- Order information: the products you order, quantities, prices, delivery method, payment method, order status, and related support or warranty requests.
- Communications: messages and information you send to our sales or support teams.
Payment information
We do not store full debit or credit card details. Payments are handled by the payment provider you select, such as M-Pesa, PayPal, Paystack, Pesapal, iPay, or your bank. Those providers process payment information under their own privacy policies.
Technical and analytics information
Our systems may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, and access time. Essential storage is also used to keep the store secure and to remember features such as your cart.
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how the store performs. The ecommerce events we measure include product views, adding a product to the cart, starting checkout, and completed purchases. These events may include a product or variant identifier, product name, quantity, price, currency, order transaction identifier, tax, and delivery charge. We do not send your name, email address, phone number, billing address, delivery address, or payment details to Google Analytics.
Google may process device, network, and interaction information when Analytics is enabled. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services on Google's partner sites and apps page.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- process payments, fulfil orders, arrange delivery, and provide receipts;
- manage accounts, carts, orders, returns, warranties, and customer support;
- send service messages such as order confirmations and delivery updates;
- protect customers and Webline from fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access;
- comply with accounting, tax, legal, and regulatory duties;
- send marketing communications when you have agreed to receive them; and
- when you consent to analytics, understand product and store performance and improve the shopping experience.
You may withdraw analytics or marketing consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before the withdrawal.
4. When we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only when needed with:
- payment providers that process your chosen payment method;
- delivery and logistics providers that fulfil your order;
- technology providers that host, secure, operate, or analyse our services;
- professional advisers where necessary; and
- public authorities when Kenyan law requires us to do so or when responding to a valid legal request.
These providers receive only the information needed to perform their service and must handle it appropriately.
5. Data retention and security
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including order fulfilment, customer support, fraud prevention, accounting, tax, warranty, and legal obligations.
We use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted website connections and access controls. No internet or storage system is completely secure, but we work to prevent unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
6. Your privacy choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- confirm whether we process your personal data and provide access to it;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- delete personal data where we are not legally required to keep it;
- object to or restrict certain processing; or
- stop sending direct marketing communications.
You can accept or decline optional analytics when the consent notice appears. You can change that choice later using Privacy Settings in the store footer or in your account settings. Declining analytics does not prevent you from shopping, although blocking essential browser storage may affect features such as the cart or sign-in.
To exercise a data-protection right, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
7. Third-party websites
Our website may link to manufacturers, warranty providers, payment providers, or other third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and Webline is not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers, or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
