The APC Back-UPS BX1600MI-MS is a 1600 VA / 900 W line-interactive tower UPS for a desktop PC, a small office workstation or a mixed 230V load that needs universal outlets. Automatic Voltage Regulation holds output in range during brownouts and over-voltage without switching to battery. When mains fails, the unit transfers in typically 6 ms (10 ms maximum) and the four rear universal outlets stay on battery plus surge protection — they accept common UK, EU and other plug types, which is the point of the MS SKU versus the IEC-only BX1600MI.\n\nA USB data port supports PC shutdown software. IN/OUT RJ45 jacks add telephone or network surge protection. The yellow battery connector on the rear is the shipping disconnect: push it home before first use. Schneider Electric publishes about 1 minute of runtime at a full 900 W and about 6 minutes 30 seconds at half load (450 W), with an 8-hour recharge and a 3–5 year expected battery life on the 24 V sealed lead-acid pack. Surge energy is 273 J. The tower is 190 × 140 × 390 mm, 10.3 kg, with a 1.2 m input cable, ~40 dBA noise and an IP20 enclosure. Coverage is a two-year repair-or-replace warranty; EN/IEC 62040-1/2 and CE apply.
