Product details

The D-Link DFE-690TXD is a credit-card-sized 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet adapter that adds a wired network connection to a notebook through a 32-bit CardBus (PCMCIA Type II) slot. It has a built-in “Direct Port”, so a standard RJ-45 network cable plugs straight into the card with no separate media coupler or dongle to carry or lose. The card auto-negotiates both speed (10 or 100Mbps) and duplex mode (half or full) with the switch or hub it connects to. It supports speeds up to 200Mbps in full-duplex Fast Ethernet mode and is hot swappable, so it can be inserted or removed while the notebook is running. Two LEDs show link and activity at 10Mbps and 100Mbps. It is a practical way to give an older notebook a reliable wired connection to an office LAN, shared files and printers, or the internet.
