Product details

This is a factory-quality magnetic stripe encoder upgrade for the IDP SMART-51 series card printers. It lets your printer read and write data to the magnetic stripe on a card as it prints. That gives you a single-step workflow for access cards, membership cards, gift cards, hotel keys and other stripe-based credentials. It supports the ISO 7811 standard, with Track 1, 2 and 3 read/write and both high-coercivity (HiCo) and low-coercivity (LoCo) stripes. It also supports JIS II. A technician can fit it to an existing SMART-51S, SMART-51D or SMART-51L, so you can add encoding later without replacing the printer. Encoding is controlled with IDP’s free Smart IDesigner software.
